My Thinkpad X31 fails to enter suspend or hibernate when my PCMCIA
wireless card is inserted. If I rmmod the rt2500pci module, suspend and
hibernate both work perfectly. If I add this to my ACPI config:

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be fixed. It is still intermittent,
and while I sometimes get high speeds (50MBps), I sometimes get the
expected low (10MBps) speeds. As others have pointed out, it does seem
to be related to which SATA port the drive is connected to. I do need to

Having upgraded to Gutsy, transfer speed is a lot faster for me, but I'm
not certain the issue is fully resolved yet - I got between 20 and 40
MBps when copying this evening, so I will test further and report back.
It is a definite improvement though, no question.

This doesn't seem to be limited to Intel chipsets - it also seems to
affect nForce based systems, as per the discussion at the previously
quoted thread.

Since my last comment, I have done some more testing. While performance
is generally much better than it was a year ago, it still isn't quite as
fast as it should be on two of my drives, and these drives don't appear
to be running in any UDMA mode. The other one seems to perform a bit

File copy speed is very slow (roughly 5-10MBps) on SATA drives using
