Update... this seems to fix it. Add pci=noacpi noapic to the end of your
kernel options not sure if this will apply to everyone but it works for
me.

Public bug reported:
Laptop is Toshiba Satellite M55-S3314. Card reader is Texas Instruments
PCIxx21 chipset 5-in-1. This worked fine in Breezy and Dapper. Doesn't
work in Edgy.
Inserting an SD or MMC card yields nothing. dmesg |tail indicates:

Public bug reported:
I leave my machine running all the time. When I left on Friday
everything was ok, on Monday I checked my email and noticed that there
were some updates. I then did an update and got the following kernel
panic. I don't know if the update went ok. koffing is my machine name.
Don't know if you want more reports, but here's one. For me, it works
smoothly until I try to do any GLX operations -- in the attached dmesg
is the result of running glxinfo.

I just activated the "intel" driver for a few minutes now to produce these
files for you.
I'm going back to i810 now, since the intel driver produces all sorts of weird
problems for me. (huge font in the login name line at gdm log
I am using the "intel" driver, at least this is what xorg.conf says:

another problem I just now saw when directly comparing vlc and totem:
totem shows the video in about half the original resolution. it really looks
blocky.
I had that problem before, but don't know how to solve it.

movie player distorts image horizontally

when I use the gst-launch command, I get a movie player window with no controls
that starts with the described narrow, distorted image; but I can grab the
window border and pull the window to a format where the aspect ratio is correct.
When I use the i810 video driver, the image distortion proble
This package has no hard dependency on Apache 1.x and continues to work
fine on Apache 2.2 on my newly upgraded Gutsy server here. Of course, I
realise this doesn't solve the lack of maintainer.

Binary package hint: totem
I'm using Gutsy with Totem 2.20.0 and gstreamer 0.10.14.
No matter what video file I try to play, the image is shown in a distorted way,
so that it is square and people in movies look like eggheads.
I tried using totem-xine instead of totem-gstreame
