I was able to get past this problem by disabling third party sources in
Software Sources under System > Administration
Not sure if the other guy is still having the problem, My guess is he
would have said something by now if so..

I am running Ubuntu 10.04 lts
gnome 2.30.0
I am unable to save changes to my desktop
If I setup avant-window-navigator in the Startup Items, by the next boot
it won't be there. By It wont be there, I mean the entire entry that I
creat

Session Settings and Etc not saving
The bug has been solved on my system with the update to 10.04
I imagine it probably does not affect any version later than 10.04 either.

I have ran into this bug before and it was an easy fix, but I could not
find it in my history anywhere on this site..
So, While I have a flash app opened and playing audio in firefox, I
cannot get audio in any other app, This includes Totem, etc.
