When booting into feisty, my desktop is up and network applications
(i.e. gaim) are well under way and running before ospfd has populated my
routing table. It should not take very long for ospfd to do this so I
suspect that quagga/ospfd are being started very late inthe boot

Since upgrading to the 2.6.19 kernel (which is using libata now iiuc) i
have been having hard disk lockups. That is, i/o to/from the disk just
does not happen. No more HD led and anything trying to access local
disk hangs. Even a sysrq-s does not cause the buffer cache to f

Respectfully, this report was made almost 2 months ago. I have not the
foggiest recollection about which DVD I was trying to rip at the time or
what the nature of the problem was beyond what's in the crash report.

What release will this switch back to vid-ide driver happen? I have
2.6.20-5 installed and it's still wanting to use pata_via.
Currently I am using -4 with a self compiled via82cxxx module and
everything is just peachy. Having to rebuild that on each kernel
release is a bit of a PITA though.

Any more information I can provide?
You didn't say how I could force the old IDE subsystem on boot. I want
to try it and see how long I can run without a lock up to eliminate the
actual drive as being a cause of the problem.

When I run apport-retrace --download-debug it seems that
apport wants to load -dbgsym packages, but afaict, debug packages are
named -dbg.
It would be nice to have this option during the initial apport pop-up so
that I can see the stack trace for
Could somebody please just tell me how to force the initramfs to load
the old ide subsystem instead of the new libata? I am getting tired of
having to reboot my machine at least daily.

Upstream bug has determined the issue. Recommendation is:
Also, another workaround for now is to rebuild evolution-sharp and then beagle
in feisty so that it picks up the correct versions.
