Is this bug supposed to be fixed in any of the latest kernels in feisty?
Like in 2.6.20-4 perhaps?

Given that 2.6.20-2-generic seems to have defaulted to the (slow, but
stable) ide_generic driver, how is one supposed to choose to use the new
libata pata drivers? I had done it previously by adding pata_via (iirc)
to the /etc/initramfs-tools/modules file and regenerating the initramfs.
Is this the correct way? Is there a more run-time (i.e. kernel boot
parameter) way to do it?

Thanx,
b.
