Logitech's universal nano receiver. The receiver is permanently paired
with the device even if you unplug it and uses a proprietary wireless

I did test 1 again with the kernel option drm.debug=0x02 as suggested.

After upgrading to Natty I restested this issue. With the fixes in place
listed above the microphone worked but dock audio did not work.
If I remove the options snd-hda-intel model=dell-s14 line and remove the
startup script the sound card works exactly as intended, microphone and
dock switching.
I can confirm comment #17. With the workaround in comment #12 the
headphone jack on my docking station now no longer outputs audio.

I can confirm that with 2.6.35-maverick (from mainline kernels) and xorg-edgers
ppa enabled (not sure if this is required) that this problem is gone.
There are still glitches and blank screens occasionally, but the bug as
reported originally is not consistently reproducable anymore.

I have a similar problem where the system will completely freeze when I plug a
second monitor in. No dock in use in this case.
As soon as I plug in a screen to the RGB plug the system freezes, screen goes
blank and the caps lock light starts to flash.

perfectly fine with an 802.11g router, but causes constant dropouts with
an 802.11n router (Linksys WRT610n).

Geir, the first time I attempted to run the commands you mentioned the
computer froze and the ssh session froze so I couldn't do it. The second
time the computer froze, but the ssh session remained open. I did the
same thing both times and I was connected via ethernet both times. I'm
not sure what,
I repeated test 3 with boot options changed to remove "quiet" and
"splash" and add "drm.debug=0x02". The result was that kernel messages
ran across the laptop screen at some low resolution until reaching the
error "ureadahead main process (381) failed with status 5" then the
screen went blank. The
I tested booting up using the 2.6.32-21-generic kernel (which is the
same as the version on the LiveCD) but it gives exactly the same
results.
What is the best way to narrow down the problem? Should I try reverting
packages back to the versions used on the LiveCD?

exists. No combination of volume, or input selection yields sound coming into
the microphone.
