Really? What is the preferred way to fix this issue? I thought there is
a "Restore" action in the context menu appearing when you click on Kadu
icon. There is also indicator_docking plugin that puts Kadu into the
Messaging Menu where Empathy and other IM clients are - by default it's
installed, but
Public bug reported:
Kadu crashes on exit if a chat widget is opened and kadu_completion
external plugin is loaded, which is loaded by default. Reproducible only
on Precise, earlier versions didn't have this bug because they didn't
have kadu_completion external plugin. Please fix this before stabl

Public bug reported:
Please sync kadu 0.12.3-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main).
Kadu 0.12.3 has a workaround for a Qt bug introduced in Qt 4.8.3
(QTBUG-27122[1][2]) which has been recently uploaded to Quantal. Without
this workaround Kadu crashes very frequently if Show Offline Buddies

Adding gcc-4.6 to affected, since it can be reproduced on Precise.
I got also two reports of users having this problem in kadu-0.12.2-2
installed from this PPA for Precise: https://launchpad.net/~patryk-

In the case of Kadu this was actually caused by Kadu being built with
hardened flags and one header declaring a function that was never
implemented or called. We deleted that declaration and it fixed the
problem. You can check for any possibly missing symbols by exporting an

Hi, we've tested 1.10.0+r1059-1 with reverse dependencies:
- Kadu
- ekg
- Kopete
- libpurple (using Pidgin)
- telepathy (using Empathy)
Results:
- Kadu connected with proxy and without, works good
- ekg connected with proxy and without, works good
- Kopete connected without proxy (we have no idea
The problem is that it looks like you uploaded 1.10.0+r1059-1 version
which has a regression over 1.9.x series. As I wrote in my previous
comment, 1.10.1-1 version is free from known regression. We tested it
and got the same results in terms of basic functionality as for
1.10.0+r1059-1.

libgadu-1.10.0 provides support for typing notifications and multilogon. If
Kadu is built against it (libgadu-1.10.0 exports new symbols), that support is
enabled in Kadu. Other clients don't need to be recompiled as they don't
support new libgadu yet and the new version is API/ABI backwards com
I tested Pidgin with libgadu-1.10.0 (though not using Ubuntu) and it
works just fine with exception of proxy connection which seems broken
for all clients using unpatched libgadu-1.10.0.
