This problem is occuring with mplayer as well. It may be a problem with
X. Both xine and mplayer give the same error "BadAlloc (insufficient
resources for operation)".
It seems that this problem only occurs for the HD wmv files located at
gametrailers.com. Some HD wmv files do play fine while othe
Sorry, the network connection actually does work. I checked with
ifconfig and pinged www.google.com successfully. I got confused when the
networkmanager app incorrectly gave a status of "No Network Connection."
I also assumed a problem with the network connection when firefox took a
long time to lo
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: libxine1
There's now a xine plugin available for mozila browsers. For Kubuntu, it
would be great to have a xine plugin instead of having to use mplayer or
vlc plugins.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: firefox
Using firefox 2.0.0.2 with the xine plugin works fine. Upgrading to
firefox 2.0.0.3 will cause firefox to crash whenever you attempt to play
a video such as those found in gametrailers.com.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: libxine-main1
On an i386 machine using fiesty, trying to playback wmv files using
xine-ui causes the xine-ui to crash. Trying to play wmv file using
kaffeine will only playback audio, no video.
To reproduce, install the the xine-ui package and go to

I found this to be a problem with xine under feisty as this issue is not
reproducible under edgy, even while using libxine 1.1.4 under edgy. I
submitted a different bug report at https://launchpad.net/bugs/97506.

Upgrade to Firefox 2.0.0.3 causes xine plugin to crash Firefox
https://launchpad.
Public bug reported:
The playstation 3 can detect and install the kboot "otheros.bld" image
as long as it's on a medium under "/PS3/otheros/otheros.bld". It would
be more convenient if the feisty installer discs for the PS3 contained
the "otheros.bld" image at "/PS3/otheros/otheros.bld" instead of
Which "otheros" file is this bug about? If it's the installer
(other.self) it's no longer needed as of firmware 1.60 for the PS3. It's
explained at http://www.playstation.com/ps3-openplatform/index.html
If it's the boot loader (otheros.bld), it's already in the Live CDs
under the directory "kboot"

I got the same error as Kyle Gordon.
The only thing I did was click close and wait for the upgrade tool to
continue, which took a very long time. It eventually brought me to the
next prompt which asked to reboot the machine. I rebooted and I haven't
run into another problem after that.

Reinhard,
I looked at the current ffmpeg tree and found that the aacenc can now be
enabled.

Would it be possible to backport this to the the 0.5 branch (and thus
patch current Debian/Ubuntu packages accordingly) or do users have to

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: libmythtv-perl
It's wrong to install the libmythtv-perl files to the Perl "site"
directories (which is the default) as that means it's bound to the
release of Perl that the Perl bindings were built from. Instead, they
should go in the Perl "vendor" direct
Can version 11.0~git20120403.ec33f1f+repack1-5 be synced instead? This
change simply disables building on all architectures except amd64 and
i386. In Debian, xbmc fails to build on powerpc anyway.

Reinhard, this definitely should be worded better. I believe the proper
term to use that everyone (users, developer, system adminstrators, etc.)
understand is 'deprecated.'
