Hi all. I can confirm this bug.
Fresh install of Gutsy 64 in a AMD X2 4400+ / Asus motherboard with
builtin Gigabit ethernet (nvidia chipset). No wireless involved, just
gigabit ethernet. My home is mounted over nfs, so is many directories on
the machine.
I dist-upgraded just after installing, so
I am pretty sure they are two different bugs. At one side, people with
ndiswrapper problem are having kernel panics, on the other side my
machine is hanging without using wireless at all.

In Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn) I have installed Beryl (via synaptics) which
works just fine. I have also installed Revelation (via synaptics) to
manage all my passwords which works just fine.
After that I addes the "revelation account search" to the panel. This
works fine as well.

Similar situation occurs when an user is deleted and re-added.
Suppose you add a user "newuser" using the System -> Administration -> Users
and Groups. The user is successfully created.
Then you decide to remove the user, and it is successfully removed.

Running vol_id as a standard (non-root) user reports the message "error
open volume" for valid filesystems. Running it as root works as
expected. The error message is incorrect and misleading.
Example:
vol_id /dev/hda1
/dev/hda1: error open vol
This has happened on Feisty for me.
