thanks for the hint. This works *way* better, and so far (30min) it
seems stable. Let's leave the bug open for a few more days so I can

However, when I go to a different room (around 8m away, open doors, no
walls in between), the signal quality drops significantly and that seems

This bug is still present in current Precise. I can reproduce it using
Firefox.
There are no instructions how to instruct Firefox to use poppler instead
of gs, and the upstream gs authors simply closed the bug invalid without
a reason...

* using my laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad X201 3626-A14) using builtin display at
1280x800
* login
* connect an external Dell 24" monitor using VGA
* Dell screen is detected correctly and used as secondary display using max
resolution 1920x1200
* logout
* display is re
Workaround:
a) plugin external monitor before login
or
b) unplug and re-plug monitor after login
