Same Problem here.
All of the sudden Nautilus is using huge amounts of memory, Sometimes as high
as 93% of the available memory. System Becomes slow and Unresponsive.
Seems to have started after updates rolled out on Oct 23 2007.
Running Gutsy 7.10 64Bit
Quad Core
4 GB RAM.
Nautilus 2.20.0 Sleep

I would not call this a duplicate of bug #174809.
Bug #174809 is a memory leak that happens slowly over time.
This bug is an all-of-the-sudden spike that uses massive amounts of
memory for no aparent reason.

I have 3 Monitors on an Nvidia NVS 450 video card. The three worked perfect in
9.10 using Xinerama.
Just upgraded to 10.04 and mouse pointer gets stuck (flickering) between
monitors becoming unusable.
Xorg CPU usage skyrockets and I have to kill it.

Seems to be an issue with the "leftOf" directive in xorg.conf and
Xinerama
A temp workaround is to use only "RightOf" directives
I just redid my xorg.conf with only "RightOf" directives, re-arranged my
monitors physically to match that of the new xorg.conf and it is
working fine

I removed xserver-xorg-video-all & xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
and then
sudo sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-195.36.24-pkg2.run -k $(uname -r) (or what ever
nvidia drivers your are using).

The weird part is that all my icons were fine. The problem started when
I switched my video card from an Nvidia 9600GT to an Nvidia Quadro NVS
450. The former was with twinview and the newone with xinerama.
Same theme.

@Daniel, on the video it was between screen two and three, but it also
happens to me between the first and the second.
I can also move the mouse vertically, but everything else is dead not
even Ctrl-Alt-Backspace works.
Hopefully this bug can gather enough people for some expert to look into
