I'm sorry to break the good mood here, but I still get problems suspending on
my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li 2735.
Trying both 8.10 i386 and 9.10 alpha4 desktop live cd's the issue appears
fixed, but:
* after a few correct suspend requests running live cd at a point the system
is unable to correct
Tried running pm-suspend from the console two times (with Xorg running
and also stopped) and I still get the same double power-up and hang
sequence upon trying to resume. No messages since the console remained
blank.
Should I try to mess up again with the DebuggingKernelSuspend method ?

I have opened a separate bug #337470 since Apparmor caught a kernel OOPS
upon resume.
If you consider that the symptoms on Amilo Li 2732 are different / is
fixed versus Li 2735 then please go ahead closing this bug since I will
be continuing in #337470.

Suspend mode don't work on Fujitsu Siem
Just updated the machine to the latest Jaunty and the symptoms are worse
now -- the machine does one powerup then powersoff and remains powered
off.

Found the root cause: I was sharing the .purple configuration directory
between two Ubuntu installations (symlink between homes), Feisty and
Gutsy. When I recreated the Pidgin configuration from scratch in Gutsy,
the crashes stopped reproducing.

I am in the very same situation (gradual updates until final Gutsy release). I
can think of two possible tests right now:
1. "flush" all compiz settings in order to revert to default setup (or even
certain plugin(s) settings)
2. Switch to "i810" driver instead of "intel" driver
3. upgrade or r
I can confirm that creating a new user fixes the problem. I have "flushed" all
GNOME configuration files in my home directory and the problem has disappeared.
I guess fixing up some or most of the ~/.gconf/apps/compiz/ hierarchy would
resolve the problem.
I have not tried yet Preferences / Advan

Found out that the installation was corrupted (had all kinds of signal traps
generated by the screensaver).
After reinstalling from an original Ubuntu 64bit disc everything seems to work
fine.

Ever since installing Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 amd64 on a Intel P4 machine, I
