Public bug reported: Binary package hint: file-roller
File roller version 2.19.90-0ubuntu1 in Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 up-to-date. While in Ubuntu Feisty the File roller utility you would get to choose what application you will use to open certain files and remember that choice, in Ubuntu Gutsy the file-roller will always open by default the gEdit editor even though I want gVim (and have set that option in Nautilus), which forces me to always use "Open with". I understood from other file-roller bugs that a new behavior has been implemented -- to detect file type after extraction and open based on mime-types. It would be nice if file-roller would respect the same user choices when opening files as Nautilus does. Perhaps adding xdg-open support would help. ** Affects: file-roller (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [gutsy] Cannot set / remeber from Nautilus the default application with which to open archived files in file-roller https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/132901 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
