This seems more complicated than I thought. Sometimes it is possible to
launch from the command line and get a working menu. However, clicking
on a menu item greys out the menu. Further instances of gvim launchpad
from the command line do not display the menu at all or display the
unclickable greye
I did have some photos imported into Photos/1.
Workaround:
I've moved these directories out of the way, but f-spot still does not
launch. The bad data is still in the sqlite3 database - Photos.time
contains photos
To fix this:
cd ~/.config/f-spot
cp photos.db photos.db.incaseiwannarecover
sqlit
In my case, the two files causing the trouble had file creation dates in
2004-10-12 and were both corrupt and no longer recognizable as jpeg
images.

I had this problem - able to add Twitter and Indenti.ca accounts, but no
add button after authorizing facebook. Several attempts. Gwibber is
authenticated on my other computer fine.
I changed the theme (In gwibber, Edit->Preferences->Style->Theme) to
default and tried again. It worked.

I see this sort of effect regularly on boot. The reliable work around
for me is to log out and log in again. All the startup applications are
in cache and the race conditions are not triggered. It seems it happens
when the panel is a little slower than normal loading, and startup
applications and a
Gwibber in Lucid is pretty much unusable due to this bug. A work around
is to install the Gwibber packages from Maverick, which is working just
fine here. The Maverick packages do not use desktop-couch. Keeping the
Maverick packages up to date is an exercise for the reader as I don't
think the stab
