Using Aptitude I updated Dovecot (specifically dovecot-core:amd64) from
1:2.2.33.2-1ubuntu4.2 -> 1:2.2.33.2-1ubuntu4.3 and ended up with a non-
working installation. The reason for this is that the following config
files were completely overwritten

SSD drive. This a BIOS system, not UEFI.
I have a Windows 10 system restored to an nvme drive on a pci-card. I
can boot this windows-10 system in VirtualBox.
Ubuntu can see my nvme drive perfectly well, a
Command ran to add it again and run dmesg so it shows. That does not
help. See attached dmesg.

My initial USB drive had been configured for MBR and I was installing
side-by-side with a GPT installation of Linux Mint 19.1. Thinking that
may have been the reason for the crash, I recreated my USB drive with
GPT from the 18.04.2 ISO. The failure occurred in the same place
7 years passed by and the problem is still here! (for me, on ubuntu
18.04) such a mess...

installed nfs-common (1:1.3.4-2.2ubuntu3.1), which is a subpackage of
nfs-utils.
