I am not sure its the same bug, but using Ubuntu 8.10 suddenly synaptic
stopped working. If you click on the icon it requires sudoers password,
and then nothing happens. If you try to run it from terminal it starts
if you run it without administrative privileges. but sudo synaptic pails
with this

I have this issue on a desktop connected to a Dell 28" at a resolution
of 3840x2160 and scale of 200%. Running `gsettings set
org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor 1` (or `2`) doesn't do the

1. I was able to toggle it on the command line or using the settings.
This is still true for subsequent releases, up to 18.10.
2. Yes. I have been testing every release up to current 18.10, and the
problem with the keyboard combination persists (see #28 and #29, sadly I
stopped reporting and just
sublime text, slack also immune, firefox, thunderbird are not... so ok
it's not universal but *lots* of apps are affected, and the pattern
doesn't seem to be gnome/not-gnome.

This looks like a local configuration problem: if
/etc/ssh/authorized_keys is chmod 0700 non-root users can't reach their
/etc/ssh/authorized_keys/%u directory. You probably want to chmod 0700
/etc/ssh/authorized_keys/%u.

confirmed, gedit seems to be immune for some reason. pretty much
anything else i tried is not; calculator, terminal, libreoffice,
nautilus...

In the meantime numactl grew an FTBFS error - not due to the change requested
here, but due to some other change in the build environment - yay why couldn't
this be easy :-)
