If you try to run it from terminal it starts if you run it without administrative privileges. but sudo synaptic pails with this message:
sudo synaptic [sudo] password for csevcik: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 keyUnable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused (synaptic:4058): Gtk-WARNING **: 09:57:26.552: cannot open display: :0 Re installing synaptic does not help solving the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/42178 Title: synaptic: ‘Lock Version’ is broken; use dpkg hold To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/synaptic/+bug/42178/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
