... I have the same issue as user zwets above in this message thread:
whiptail command hangs infinitely and does not show a menu possibly
because of the bad environment it is running in.
My workaround was to kill the perl process and run it
lp1779817 kernel from #19 doesn't help me, last working kernel is
4.15.0-23.

For the recent cycle with Bionic kernel, it's failing with:

CyaSSL seems to have been packaged in Ubuntu for a brief period of time
around15.04 [1]. Shortly after, it was renamed to wolfSSL which also
caused the package to be renamed.
