This seems to be related to a change in enabling the rotate function
again. Previous kernels also resume automatically after a few seconds.
I suspect that the auto-rotate feature must be trigerring some signal

I got this as well on my bq E5 on rc-proposed r489.
I only switched from stable to rc-proposed without wiping my data.
I'll try to attached some logs.
I'll also try if receiving a call or a message will fix it.

My call history was back after receiving an SMS but my messages are

After rebooting, the issue came back but a call fixes it again except
