mdadm with imsm metadata seems to be completely broken in ubuntu.

Since the upgrade to Ubuntu's 16.04.1 Linux kernel 4.4.0-40.60, it is
impossible to boot my machine with full root encryption.
It will keep loading the purple Ubuntu "dots" loading screen for ages and stay
there.
There is no issue rebooting back with kernel 4.4.0-38.57.

The conflict starts at libvirt usually preferring absolute paths vs the kvm
wrapper which uses normal PATH lookup.
That understood I think the severity is low.
I really really appreciate the report as it is a valid issue - but I
don't think it qualifies
As noted already, but zmqpp is now in the yakkety release pocket, ready
