After much tinkering I could make it work for Xubuntu 14.10. More or

Optirun works for FireFox but won't for Chromium. No clue why this is.
At some point during my attempts I saw in nvidia-settings a profile choice:
Intel or NVidia. (Without running optirun.) Intel worked fine. NVidia cras
I can see that maintaining 2 virtualbox-x11 packages in one release is
not desirable, but at the end of the day Ubuntu Trusty is meant to be
supported until 2019. How many more hardware stacks will be released in
that time and will virtualbox remain locked against the original stack
all that time?

Thunar tries to access cached file information which does not exist when the
user drags a file from desktop to thunar. As result, the copy action is
determined to be the ideal drag and drop action.
The attached patch adds normal file info lookup as fallback
It's partially fixed.
This works now when using media keys for volume up and down (the reported value
by the notification is the correct one). It is not fixed when using
indicator-sound itself:
- there is still the notification spam
- this one is offset between the notification report and indica

I tried the updated mesa from xorg-edgers. Unfortunately that doesn't
solve the issue and makes the other issues much worse (now almost every
app is missing some glyphs and icons, and windows have a weird glow
around them where the shadow would otherwise be).
