First off, the mainline builds are not supported. They are provided only
for testing purposed. You should confirm that the problem also exists

Further tests showed that the problem is not m17n specific, but it's
scim and gedit that don't work together with respect to the backspace
and delete keys. Neither ibus nor fcitx has that issue. (The ibus issue
Swarup mention above is something else.)

I started off by clearing the test user's home dir and copying in just what's
in /etc/skel. Then System Settings->Locale, add German, put German as top

drive number), and grub answered "error: disk 'hd0,msdos5' not found." (with a
zero, not a one).
Even the command "reboot" gives the same message, and no reboot. I have to use
