I ran into this bug today. It happened when I dragged the attached file
from nautilus to gedit over an sftp connection. The strange thing is if
I created a new file, and c&p the contents from "recovery.html" to the
new file, then dragged it to gedit it didn't crash, I'm guessing due to
file endings
Guys, if anyone here uses Kubuntu 13.04 or Mint 15 KDE, please try it
there with kdesudo instead of gksu.
I couldn't get it to freeze. I don't know if it affects something, but
kdesudo spits all the messages sent to stderr right away, while gksu
holds them all somewhere and will unload them all at
There's no point in it: sudo is for console apps, gksu is for GUI ones.
Try also this: turn the aforementioned setting on once (or just start
synaptic with it turned on), then off, and only then start working with
the package list, e.g. browsing, selecting, scrolling with both keys and
mouse, etc.
I followed exactly these instructions to post the bug. What am i doing
differently this time?

Christopher, do you mean BIOS version 2.53? That's the newest I could find.
Anyway, by updating to 2.53 (from 2.52) and removing the
'GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_backlight=vendor"' line from /etc/default/grub, it
now works as expected.

Hi,
I can't get Lxappearance to work anymore either. In Precise it behaved strange,
changing the content for the gtk2 theme as well as the gtk3 theme.
I have ugraded directly from Precise to Raring in a full Openbox version
containing just a few items from Lxde, such as Lxpanel and Lxappearance,
Scott, you do realize I didn't post the bug against Kubuntu, right? The
issue is not with KDE, it is with Xubuntu and regular Ubuntu. I wasn't
saying that the issue was indicator-messages, I said it is indicatior-
application. Once I remove that, the TRAY ICON works. Please explain

When transferring files from my Samsung Galaxy S3 to my computer, all
files and folders were renamed to simple 3 digit numbers. The transfer
should preserve names and relative path structure.
Running Raring Xubuntu, with mtpfs and mtp-tools.

I did. I am actually using quassel-client-qt4. It is stuff like this
that is making me slowly move away from ubuntu variants. Unity is nice,
but it breaks too many other things by trying to be too different.

Please stop asking to revert the status of this bug. It is fine as is:
1. This bug was fixed in compiz and Unity in 11.04 (two years ago now). The
left, right and bottom window borders now have a ten-pixel each-way grab area.
2. A similar grab area was added to the top border in 13.04
