After getting the machine dual-booting both Ubuntu 13.04 and Windows 7,
I realized this machine is booting much much differently than any of my
other machines.
It's using a UEFI chip, not a BIOS chip. It's currently booting both
Windows 7 and Ubuntu in EFI mode (With SecureBoot disabled, since Win

When I use this boot parameter (on a Folio 13-2000) UPower recognizes

I SPOKE TOO SOON.
3.8.0-19.30 stopped working after a reboot.
On one of my other computers, it boots to lightdm (after a wait), but in
the wrong resolution. The HDMI driver is still broken here, and it
takes the nVidia driver with it.
Still using 3.9 mainline, which really works great. I wish
@Joseph any update on this bug? Do you think it will be safe for me to
upgrade to Raring, or should I stay on Quantal for now?

I am pretty sure, this "bug" / "feature request" can be closed - I have
searched the Lexmark-sites high and low, there's no "Linux Driver Kit"
anywhere any more. Haven't even found the linux-driver any more that I
later found on an old CD, it seems Lexmark removed their Linux-support
completely. :(

developers ppa, I'm not sure if the ppa even has this patch...

upgraded from xserver-xorg-lts-precise to xserver-xorg-lts-quantal, I'm

Transferred another 26678 files, 48,3 GB without issues.
gvfsd-smb memory usage grew from about 3 to 15 Mb, and nautilus' from 10 to
about 50Mb during the copy.
At the end of the copy, I noticed that neither process had released any memory.
So I started a second copy.

No, I don't think so. This would start a full transition; it's not worth
it at this point. We should wait for a more major upstream release.
Also, sync requests are wrong when you want to keep our Ubuntu changes.

For me, the graphical glitches from 3.5.0-27 are gone but today I got a
crash report and GPU hung errors in syslog (but not in dmesg for some
reason):

Just applied kernel 3.8.0-19-generic today to ubuntu 13.04 and so far so
good. I havent done a ton of reboots to thoroughly test but previously
it only took a couple tries. I will be right back to report if it
