Yes, setresuid() does make a difference over NFS, but it's the wrong
interface. You should be using setfsuid(), *not* setresuid().
If pam_env is already calling setfsuid() (which makes sense, as this is

(how did you try to update it?)
Ubuntu no longer builds oss modules with its kernel, so don't try to
modprobe those modules (you won't need them anyway).

Thx for the update. But we don't really need to test it, because we us
this firmware since 2011, so far before I opened this case here. And as
far as I could see you did only add "ngene_18.fw".
You can kick out the files "ngene_15.fw" && "ngene_17.fw", nobody is
able to use it with Ubunt

I mount my samba shares with the following command:
sudo mount -t cifs -o user=admin,password=very.long.password.with.dot
//server/sharename /pub/disk
On 12.10, the command works flawlessly and correctly mounts the share.
After I upgraded to 13.04, the command no longer work
