Ok I installed the 3.8-rc3 kernel, and after installing also the extras-package
I got the usb devices to work.
But the same problem persists, trying to partition the hdd just fails.

The only symptom I see is (1) from the original description.
The following just renders an ellipse containing a dot:

I get the same error message attempting to start smc version
1.9+git20120222-0ubuntu2 on Ubuntu Raring. To check if this issue should
be pushed upstream, I tried version 1.9+git20120222-1 in Debian unstable

The developer of xfce4-volumed said that xfce4-volumed isn't compatible
with pulseaudio, but that's not really accurate. The first problem is a
default settings issue (preselection of the correct gst card/channel),
and the second culprit is gstreamer pulse plug

upstream kernel. Would it be possible for you to open an upstream bug
report[0]? That will allow the upstream Developers to examine the
issue, and may provide a quicker resolution to the bug.

I am also seeing this behavior with a logitech HD Webcam C310. I am

build now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-

always puts it in the left-top corner of the desktop when i close and
then i reopen window again.
