Using ctrl+alt+f1 and killing compiz using killall -9 on tty1 allow me to

On a Lenovo B30 workstation, the sytem fails to resume from suspend.
The system appears to successfully suspend and power off, but on resume,
it never fully wakes up.

Hmm, g_type_init only does nothing in trunk glib. Using 2.34 and earlier
you need to call it, and it seems to leak by design :(
