I came across some bugs in window tiling features in Unity 6.10 on Ubuntu
12.10. When I press Ctrl + Alt + 8 the terminal window is placed in the upper
half of the screen which is fine. However, if I press Ctrl + Alt + 5 to make it
maximize the title bar disappears.

The solution for the CTM problem (which is what causes the wacky cursor
jumping) is this patch, which was accepted into upstream on 19 Nov 2012;
it is not yet in precise-proposed, but I was able to rebuild xorg-
server-1.13.0 (from 12.10) with this patch and the problem went away:

mount DVD's due to the ACL problem. After installing udisks2 version
2.0.0-1ubuntu1, DVD mounting works.

I agree with you about the third column. Is not very useful and can cause

install mysql. The my.cnf file is owned by mariadb's common package, so
when you install mysql-common, it tries to take over ownership of the
file, and its already
