So this is the Excel file that triggered the problem. On the attached
screenshot you can see that the window's main bar doesn't display the
menu if you hover the mouse over it. Actions causing the window to
repaint don't help either. Until now I was unable to identify the action
that triggers this
Thanks, removing davmail resolved for me too. Noting that with
evolution-ews now present, davmail is also no longer required for my
usecase (evolution + exchange ews).

Have a very similar (probably same) problem on my fresh Ubuntu 12.10
installation. My system boots form an SSD drive, and it's using nvidia-
current-updates (GeForce 9600 card).
It looks as if things work OK sometimes when I reboot, or I can manually
just start lightdm from a ctrl+alt+F5 terminal.
The very same problem is happening on a HP Pavilion G62 which switches
between two VGAs: HD 4200 and HD5400. I don't know if the problem is
because HD 4xxx series is now legacy (unsupported) while HD 5xxx series
is not, but I also tried setting up makson96's ppa to install fglrx-

akonadi_mailfilter_agent eats 100% CPU and RAM and then crashes
This is invalid now that in 12.10 and on there is no longer a 2D
session. So only one session uses the Ubuntu logo.
