Not sure about Mic Boost, but Dock Mic Capture Volume & Dock Mic Capture Switch
are both reset to 0 everytime I plug-in my headphone&mic.

I do observe the same problem. It's so annoying.
But for my part, after few days, my x session just crash (looks like the Killed
signal). Which oftenly implies lost of work.
I also observe that running and killing many times Skype application raise the
number of misc very fast.
