webkit update took effect or other updates resolved it. Can anybody try

@ferro, thanks alot for pointing this out, I can confirm this here. Removing
i386 libraries solved the problem for me.
Did not have the metapackage "ia32-libs" installed, but alot of :i386 libs.
after
apt-get remove libc6:i386
which removed nearly all the other :i386 packets, the error was gone.
I have put a sync command on the line 64 of /etc/init.d/sendsigs,
Steven. But, the message "mount: / is busy" still appears. Hope there
will be some suggestion from the others then. Thank you for your
suggestions so far.

It seems the the current version in lp:me-tv/1.3 (1.3.8) solves the issue with
the stalled GUI.
It works for me since two days without --disable-epg-thread.
I have successful build it with the instructions from

Amarok produces no sound when I try to play something. It's using the
xine backend. The Phonon control panel plays test sounds ok. All other
apps - Rhythmbox, mplayer, Chrome, etc. - play sound just fine.

+ Run CCSM and under "Ubuntu Unity Plugin" change the key binding for "Key to
show the launcher" to something else (e.g. Super+U). Then log out and in again.
As long as no compiz plugin is bound to the single Super key any more, compiz
will no longer bloc
This appears to be fixed in 12.10 Alpha 1, kernel 3.4 and Chrome
19.0.1084.56. I'll come back if I find a regression.
