This seems to be resolved on Lenovo Thinkpad T410i with a bios update. I
notice the original posted dmesg has the version 1.25 listed, The latest
is 1.43. Going from 1.32 to 1.43 seems to have resolved this issue on
Lenovo T410i running 12.04 64bit. Same bios update applies to T410 model
also. Boo
Call me a fool but after I have installed preload and enabled prelink,
it took me two seconds more to boot but now evry session charge correcly
every compiz plugins, works like a charm.

In the /var/log/upstart/ubiquity.log the last message is always "Permission
denied". Unfortunately there is no hint for what..
I tried to start the installer with sudo (sudo ubiquity ...) and also as user
"root" but the error message still the same.

Hmm, I got the impression it was only unreliable in returning the
correct font. For example, if I use "Monospace" it still returns me the
FreeMono font. I tried the alternative of using the ttf font directly,
using
pygame.font.Font("/usr/share/fonts/truetype/freefont/FreeMono.ttf") and
get the same

Now I know where the problem is: in liloconfig only vmlinuz-2* will be
detected. With the
newer version 23.2-4 of 15 Apr 2012 this bug is solved. Unfortunately this
newer version
isn't in ubuntu 1204. Please download this last version from the debian

Is the sorting for your bookmarks library set to "unsorted"? (see attached
screenshot)
It looks like you need to set your bookmark library to "unsorted" to be allowed
to manually change the ordering of bookmarks.

Things are better with ubuntu-12.04LTS. It seems that the pen halted
only one time after the upgrade to 12.04.

This bug found for both -ldl and -lpthread on a clean install of Ubuntu 12.04
Tried before and after updates, on my presario f700 laptop (using both 32 & 64
bit versions) and on VirtualBox using 32bit.
All produced exactly the same result.

rhythmbox refused to play FLAC and froze

Messelink's suggestion solved my problem, altough I was trying to eject
internal DVDRW/CDRW drive.
Steps:
1. 'sudo eject /dev/sr0' (error)
2. 'file /dev/sr0' ('block special')
3. 'sudo eject -i off' ('CD drive may be ejected with device button')
I suggest to merge bug #398670 and bug #875543 w
