For remembering your USB soundcard (webcam) through unplugging and
plugging, that is probably not going to work for Ubuntu 12.04 - the
functionality is not there. If you like what ever you plug in to become
selected, you can try adding
load-module module-switch-on-connect
to /etc/pulse/defau
I have the very same problem in Lubuntu 11.10-- it is frustrating to have bugs
that linger for so long.
What cures this one?

You're reporting having problems with HDMI audio. Could you ensure two
things:
1) For ATI HDMI to work, the proprietary fglrx driver has to be
installed.
2) Make sure the HDMI port is selected in the sound settings.

causing a load of (frequent) unnecessary writes. I wonder if the
hdparm setting in /lib/hdparm/hdparm-functions when running battery is
too aggres
@diwic: HDMI can work with the open-source ati driver on RadeonHD
4000-series and earlier, but one needs to add 'radeon.audio=1' to the
boot flags.

printer" choices. Please tell which ones work.
Note that we cannot include Brother's drivers as they are not free
software.
