Problem solved. Now we do a PPD update during configuration of the
"cups" package, to update the PPDs for all printer driver packages where
we missed the triggers due to the fact that we also update "cups" at the
same time.

If you are deaf in one ear, it is a useful accessibility enhancement to
flatten stereo output to mono.
Ideally this would be an explicit option in the "Hearing" tab of the
System Settings "Universal Access" panel, cross-linked from the Sound
settings.

Installed Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit for Asus ux32-DH72. Installation seems to
completed successfully, as I can login and set the desktop.
However, I was unable to get any network connection, Wifi nor Wired.
Both connections worked fine when I boot up Windows 7.
