I can confirm I have tested the X-Swat PPA on an AMD Radeon X1200 in an
HP Compaq 6715b and it does not fix the problem. With the PPA glxgears
still struggles to make 13 FPS and the whole Unity interface lags

problem for me. Thank you! Not the final solution perhaps, but at least

I really am no expert about this but I faced the same problem. I think
the solution was "use the adapter" while turning on your laptop. When
not plugged in I got the panic right in 2 mins the max. So far I haven't
had a problem while using the adapter. Still a problem though.

Could you please try to run the following command in a terminal:
sudo rm

True, I disabled the last.fm shuffle, restarted banshee and the
equalizer option is back . I'm now unsure as to whether or not the
equalizer is working despite the option being grayed out (when last.fm
shuffle extension is enabled) .
Still, it shouldn't be happening, but it's a work-around, thanks
