Are you not able to make a non-maximized window smaller by dragging the
window's top border downward?
To do this, hover the mouse over the top edge of the window (the mouse
pointer will change to something like the pointer shown in the attached
screenshot), then click and hold, and drag the mouse

Here are some of screenshots so that problem could be understood.It always
hangs until I turn off compiz completely.Thank you and would appreciate if
problem doesn't persist.

Update Planner package to 0.14.
1.7.1 was packaged for debian now (will show up shortly), but because
the deadline for the automatic sync of debian packages for 11.10 was
already two weeks ago, it will not be in 11.10 without intervention from
some ubuntu maintainers.

to try and see what's going on here, because I see a number of factors

1. First of all, is the problem you're describing that windows are
being created at a larger size than your screen
