I upgraded Natty to the 2.6.38-10-generic kernel but I end up with an
endless boot loop. I even tried the 2.6.38-10-pae kernel with the same
effect. Basically, the instant GRUB attempts to load the kernel, I get

Actually the window does not comply with "maximized" state, as it's not
really maximized; see the left side where you can see it's not going
until the Unity applications bar. It only almost reacts like maximized
windows.

There was a working version which was not up to coding standards, but ran up /
including Ubuntu's last LTS release (Lucid).
After that, the v4l version control and build system has been changed, and the

In Ubuntu 11.04 with unity 3.8.16-0ubuntu1~natty1 when clicking an
indicator its icon turns opaque and the menu shown is also opaque,
regardless of the panel opacity value. I think both the icon when
clicked and the menu should follow the value set by Panel Opacity in
CCSM.

Another discovery: I now think that it's because the fact SMPlayer puts
in the top bar the movie name. This is a situation that is not addressed
in the way Unity treats applications top bar.

This issue really is absurd on desktop machines. The menu is hidden for
absolutely no reason - the space left behind after it is hidden is not
actually used for anything! This does not save any space, it actually
wastes it!

I detected this bug right on my 10.04.2 ubuntu system, and i already did
upgrade of the flash-plugin. All had work fine. You could try to update

up in gedit and replaced all instances of maverick with natty. OH NO YOU
DIDN'T, I can hear you say. But hey, I'll just roll back to a previous snapshot
when I'm done, no problem. So, after that I ran an apt-get update

Clean install of natty in virtualbox (win vista host).
Upgraded to Oneiric. When I restarted I landed in Unity-2d (since I
don't have 3d in virtualbox). However, the panel contains only network
manager - no session, no time, no calendar, nothing. Makes it very hard
to log out
