I'm on a fresh install of Natty and I don't have this problem. After
selecting 'Yes, I have an existing account I want to use' (I think
that's the option) I can choose IRC as an account type, among a long

The debian bug report 265265 says it was fixed seven years ago in
fp-compiler_1.9.4-5.
I tested today in debian 6.0 with fp-compiler_2.4.0-2 and binutils was missing.
So either it takes more than seven years to get this into stable, or the same
bug is back.

I am not sure how easy it is to reproduce so some details here:
evince is in "fit width" view and the file has no index (yuck) so
thumbnails are displayed instead.
