I think this is because the Quassel desktop file is in the
/usr/share/applications/kde4/ directory, while Unity only takes interest
in desktop files which are in /usr/share/applications/ or

Yesterday I upgraded to the new version of Ubuntu. When I play an MP4,
the mp4 works (sound but no video) unless you hold down the left mouse
button. The video will stay until you let go. The movie will keep
playing.

Why fix was not landed in LTS or other supported releases of Ubuntu and
Xubuntu?
I still suffered this bug today, trying to change theme and could not
log in again.
This bug is Not fixed, since it still affects Ubuntu/Xubuntu 10.04 and
10.10 (not sure about 11.04) and they are supported releases
