I had to switch off the effects. I do hope that Nvidia will be able to

I am using ASUS P52F notebook. I am facing strange problem the headphone
is not detected and I am not getting Headphone jack sense option in
sound preferences. I've different methods suggested ubuntu forums. But
nothing works for me.

version (but not the windows version). When you right click an embedded
object you select edit out of place. This feature is now not available
any more. I think it never really worked well, because when you resized

Had to remove this package to make GLX work for me again with Intel
card. I also had to remove nvidia-current, nvidia-settings, and nvidia-
common, as that was also taking over just like this package is.

As far as I know, a version upgrade is out of the question for an SRU.
The only way to get this fixed in Natty is to have a working patch
against 1.2.1, correct me if I'm wrong.
The upgrade to the 1.5.x series should definitely be done for Oneiric
though.

I have the same issue. I can fix it by changing terminals (alt-ctrl-F1)
and pkill gnome-screensaver
back on my gnome session (ctrl-alt-f7) I'm back on my desktop

I updated the BIOS of my Laptop to Version 1.20 (released only a few
days ago) and the problem disappears ( and I removed the 'now useless'
boot parameter). ^^
