Public bug reported:

Winbind is using a Windows active directory. /etc/resolv.conf is
pointing at a Linux based DNS which "replicates" data from the Windows
DC.

I have the same problem - the boot time has almost doubled, and a similiar jump
from 4.71 to 21.15
But I still have ext3 file systems.
There are other big time gaps, too: from 22.38 to 32.53, and from 37.72 to
48.38 (I suspect the last one to be a different problem, though).
See attached dmesg.
@Robert Hooker
Just got your xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package from xorg-edgers ppa.
My standard test sequence (see #780358) isn't causing crash anymore. Thank you!

Just an FYI, you can edit com.canonical.Unity.form-factor in dconf-
editor (found in package dconf-tools) and set it to Netbook (if you want
it to be maximized all the time)
Would need design discussion, in any case.

Since this bug I've upgraded to 11.04. This installation happened to
suffer from the same bug but the fix suggested above worked all the
same. Thanks.

I started a bug on the ALSA bug tracker a while ago for this:
https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=5324
A mini-patch is provided that makes the 522 be detected as "ideapad",
apparently a cat
