I just tested focuswriter 1.3.2.git.69e4975b-1~natty1~ppa1 from
ppa:broder/backports-tests on a Natty amd64 system running a Lubuntu
Desktop session, and a separate Natty i386 system running a Unity
session. It installs and runs on both machines. Both installations occur
without problems, as does u

just strange that the problem doesn't exist in Google Earth 5.1 which
was downloaded from the 'Julia' import section of packages.linuxmint.com
although I believe that build originally came from the Medibuntu

I have found the reason for this issue and the fix:
Due to having an android phone, and being logged into several Google services
at one time Pidgin fails to connect.
The solution is simple in the Advanced tab of Modify account add
talk.google.com for the connect server.

it's now often only the network manager applet that doesn't respond, but

That won't solve this bug though, it will just work around the problem. The
patches from that PPA - if they work - need to be incorporated into pulseaudio
upstream or the ubuntu repos.

Hi gerti! Thanks for taking the time to file this bug report and help us
make Ubuntu better.
I am not seeing the same effect as you on a fresh Natty install.
/etc/ntp.conf has 4 servers configured by default:
grep pool /etc/ntp.conf

Do you use a password for the root user in the mysql DB? It seems like
phpmyadmin doesn't have that into account and always tries to identify
himself as root without password.
