not familiar with the process of how to do that. I'm not sure I have

I have also found a temporary solution as follows
Download the version 22 bin file from jre using the links at this site or use
the file stored in /var/cache/apt/archive.
Remove version 24 using synaptic restart the machine, remove the network
connection, manually install ver
I tested with a 64 bit 2.6.37 kernel from the following link:

Without connection, iwconfig lists an "unknown"-type bitrate speed
Upon first connecting to a 54Mb wireless network, iwconfig reported
2Mb/s bitrate.
After running "sudo apt-get update" the bitrate setting increased to 36
Mb/s.

Scrolling in the Dash/Places view doesn't work no matter if the
scrolling area on the touchpad is used or the wheel of an attached
mouse. It doesn't matter whether the mouse cursor is located inside of
the Dash/Places view or not.

after a fresh install i did apt-get update && apt-get upgrade and got 50
packages held back. compiz keeps crashing but i can't apport it because
it's not the latest version. installing compiz manually removes ubuntu-
desktop and unity which leaves
i run natty 11.04

I also confirm this bug on my Dell Studio 1458 (i5).
With the fglrx video driver the suspend/resume cycle works, but the
multimedia keys are dead after the first resume.
Using the radeon video driver the computer fails to resume, leaving the
screen off and a unresponsive system.
