I just noticed that the linux image had been updated to 2.6.32-28-generic, but
there is no linux-alsa-driver-module available yet -- latest available version
is for 2.6.32-27-generic
I removed the the 2.6.32-28 linux image (reverted to 2.6.27) and sound is

I have these error messages with Maverick running on a Sony VGN-AR590E
laptop with Intel Mobile 82801 SATA RAID Controller. The first time I
installed Maverick, it was causing random boot failures. After
installing cryptsetup, it fixed it, but I still experience the error
messages (udevd-work [xx]

self. libc will fail if this is not a character block device, and even
can deny remote login ( such as on servers, in some cases ). This is an
important issue to address.

It calls the unmap and gets one of the CPU stuck (soft lock).

This package is working fine with kernel 2.6.32-28-generic on ubuntu
10.04.
After compiling a new kernel 2.6.38-rc2., problem with nvidia kernel
module began. nvidia-current 195.36.24 fails now with new kernel
(2.6.38-rc2).
On 2.6.32-28, everything seems to work, but I saw

i am experiencing the same problem with two independent installations
where one of the configurations has certainly gone through a lot - but
the other one is more-or-less clean.
