this merge, I'm keeping his patches to allow the build of ocfs2-tools

After installation of GRUB2 I have following issue:
When starting laptop after hibernating the system, the system does not resume
but is performing normal startup. Moreover after startup, my swap partition
seems to be crashed.
Symptompts:

It is the kernel that killed my system. I used the grub menu to boot
into the previous kernel, and I am back with a working.
