Same issue here on another HP dv9000. I don't believe I had this problem
until I upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10, but it's possible i had it in 10.04.
All the levels are set in alsamixer, everything in pulseaudio looks
good, but still no input level from my internal mic. However, if I
hookup an external m

This issue has existed for some time, however in natty with Unity now
being the default interface users are shown a warning that they lack 3D.
This motivates them to try installing a binary driver via jockey.
Especially if they're just testing to kick the tires, they may attempt
to do so on media w

installation space checking during installation by jockey.
But I'm leaving the -nvidia task open for now, for tracking/duping
purposes. I don't *think* there is anything we can change in -nvidia to

There is actually a setting for that but it is not exposed in the
preferences window - I think adding this preference (I'm not sure about
changing the default) would be useful. Maybe a papercut

I was getting this at every boot on an EEE PC 701 with Ubuntu 10.0.
Inspired by what tecknomage wrote on 2010-05-07, I looked at my boot
devices in the BIOS. I still had the removable device (USB stick) as

it actually just colors the line in darkgray when make(1) 'executed' a comment.
