I also had this issue upgrading from 10.04 -> 10.10 on an HP Compaq
6910p (intel GM965/GL960).
glxinfo reported direct rendering, but OpenGL renderer Mesa X11.
No errors in Xorg.0.log.

After installing a new kernel from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-
ppa/mainline/v2.6.36-maverick/ (I need at least 2.6.36 for
suspend/hibernate to work). ureadahead no longer works, the program
returns 5 which seems to be a general error code
