still some odd behavoir in Chrome.

I have investigated my issues a bit further.
The crashing of the X-server:
I have X11vnc running through Xsetup (Thus before login)
If I disable this, the X server doesn't reboot anymore.
This problem did not occur in lucid
The reason why X11vnc reboots the X-server is most likely due to the
file

I can confirm this bug on my system. Ubuntu 10.10, i915 with Compiz.
I found gnome-terminal consistently not updating the title bar correctly
while switching between directories.

I solved this problem by purging the compiz's ppa and installing the
officiel compiz from ubuntu. I had not seen that the ppa was activated.

Hmm...I think the Headphone is grayed out unless "HP independent" is
set. VIA definitely has its own way of setting up things compared to the
other codeces... :-/

I managed to trigger the loop but not the changing icon, so there's hope
for the bug yet. Still curious as to where it might be originating from
