Binary package hint: upstart
The startup scripts creates a number of directories in /var/run at
startup, they are necessary for normal operation.
Sometimes, apparently randomly, some of those directories are not
created for some reason, and some applications fails to work. A

I haven't seen anyone with similar problem, and you seem happy, so I'm closing
the bug. If installing a later kernel works, we can assume it is fixed in
Maverick, so marking as "fix released".
