It is not clear to me that this is solely an AppArmor issue, since
evince is allowed to open files in $HOME. I tried an fdf file and evince
was unable to open it, but it was not blocked by AppArmor. Clearly, the
AppArmor profile does not support FDF files outside of $HOME. Can you

I'm testing this with the latest official Ubuntu package and it looks
like the image is larger than the canvas area [see screenshot]. Please
could you confirm whether this is the case in your version of Inkscape

Hmm looking at the code I think its buggy. I'm not sure what it is
actually trying to do but it doesn't seem to be doing it right in any
case. It appears to be 8 bit shifting left, and then checking for 0. If
the device is in use lsof returns 0 if it is not then it returns 1, at
least as best as I
